Home From the Fact Finding Mission

Granada
I've been home for three days from Nicaragua. I have so many thoughts swimming in my head from what I saw and felt and learned it's hard to describe. I think I'll work on stories from it over the next few weeks but for now here are some photos.

volcán Ometepe

Nicaragua is a very special place and being there you feel hopeful for a future that isn't a replica of other countries, but something unique. The people are proud and hard working and professional and kind, not effusive. Dignified. I learned a lot about the country and the people and myself.

Gone Swimming

Simple Social Graces is officially closed for the next 8 days while I get my mind together without the distractions of the internet, google reader, facebook and other things I feel like I can't live without. I'm gonna read books, swim with freshwater sharks, see sea turtles lay eggs and basically try to be there then. I sure hope I come back with a renewed excitement and enthusiasm for life here now. That's always the goal at least.
